We're sticking with the year-round format and hope to see you out all winter.The CALENDAR is up for the year with a link to a printable version that includes four area major matches and details on some of our special matches.Notable changes the particulars on an annual favorite, the July 4th picnic match. The Man Against Man shotgun side match is scheduled for September and the night match in November.So there are lots of events to look forward to and plan to attend.

Welcome to Foothills Defensive ShootersYou may be asking what this club is all about. We are an IDPA affiliated club in the Wilkesboro North Carolina area. We have been holding matches here since 2000. We are known for our friendly atmosphere and the great people that come out to shoot with us. Many shooters that participate in IDPA in the area have gotten their start right here. The true test of any club is not that you can keep the shooters that you started with but that you can attract new ones and keep them coming back as well. It is always a joy to watch someone come to their first match, shoot a stage or two and then realize that this is not so hard. They relax, have a good time and meet new friends. When they come back they usually have been practicing some and you can see the results. As the match director for Foothills Defensive Shooters I would like to extend an open invitation to the new shooter in this sport. Come out; see what we are all about. Plan on shooting and having a good time with the people here. I will do my best to ensure that everyone, new shooter and seasoned veteran, has a great time. Feel free to contact me with questions; I will get you an answer. Thanks to Duncan's Gun, Range and Loan for a great place to shoot.
